Foremost in importance in the Ministry of The VINE helping our Singles connect with God through genuine, Spirit-initiated worship. Worshipping together is a special time of lifting high the name of our Lord and also of the community that comes from a shared worship experience.
Discipleship is another way that our Single Adults connect with God and with each other. More often than not, it is through intense study of His Word that we come to realize His purposes for us as believers and His personal will for us as individuals.
Building strong relationships and an authentic sense of community is key to success in our Single Adult ministry. This is often accomplished through social interaction.
Periodically, Singles church-wide will gather for fun events. Pot luck dinners, concerts, bowling, after church fellowships, game nights, movie nights and more, create opportunities for our Single Adults to build meaningful relationships.
Even more activity occurs within the ministry of our individual LIFE Groups for Single Adults.
The VINE Single Adult ministry is one that remembers the importance of who unmarried people are and who they have (Christ), rather than on who they are not and what they don’t have.
But, while many single adults have to learn to embrace their wholeness in Christ, others who have experienced divorce, loss, loneliness or loss of identity need to find an extra measure of hope and healing for hearts.
This comes from:
Not only is it the goal of the VINE ministry to provide single adults with continuing equipping for ministry and personal growth, as well as other opportunities for leadership development, but one of the ultimate goals of this ministry is to stage annual “Single Truth” conferences as a regional offering to singles from the South Plains, Panhandle, Big Country and the Permian Basin. These one-day events will feature compelling worship with accomplished worship leaders and insightful teaching from single adult ministry experts.
Equipping single adult leaders will also come through:
One of the best ways for a single adult to be instilled with a sense of value, purpose and usefulness to the Kingdom is through regular involvement in service to others, whether within the church body or beyond. Visit ActNow Lubbock to view information about all the ministries that the VINE and Southcrest Baptist Church support.
Working side-by-side in such endeavors is also a wonderful bonding opportunity for single adults. The Apostle Paul taught that the service of single adults is an invaluable asset to the body of Christ because they are uniquely equipped (see 1 Corinthians 7:32-35).
